How much does it cost to have shutters installed at my home?
It really depends on the type, size and material of the shutters you require. We offer full height shutters, solid panel shutters, tier on tier shutters, cafe style shutters, shutters for doors and bay window shutters. Materials we supply are hybrawood, eco shutters, classic hardwood and premium hardwood.
Hybrawood is the most cost-effective option because it combines solid wood and polyvinyl materials. The louvres are made of polyvinyl with an aluminum core, while the exterior frame is built of solid hardwood.
Plantation shutters typically cost between £180 and £300 per square metre in the United Kingdom. A full-service shutter installation, which includes expert measurement and installation, would set you back £300+ per sqm.
The price of bay window shutters is determined by the size of your bay window and the type of material you select. When purchasing self-install shutters, an average sized box bay window measuring roughly 2 sqm will cost from £359. To figure out how much shutters will cost for your bay window, double the total width by the height to get your square meter measurements, then multiply that by the price of the shutter range you want. This should give you a good idea of how much the shutters will cost.
These are the approximate prices just for the shutters and do not include the measuring and installation fees.
Are shutters worth getting?
I assisted an installation of shutters on a beautiful Victorian bay window on my first day as a trainee shutter installer and was completely blown away by the difference that shutters made to the residence.
A correctly fitted wood shutter can prevent heat loss by 75-90 percent and offer insulation with an R-Value of 4.0 to 10.0. Simply covering your windows with plantation shutters is one of the most effective ways to lower your utility bills and save money.
